Understand the workplace procedures and legislation when isolating and re-energising high voltage systems

Current Health and Safety legislation, industry codes and best practice guidelines. Specific OEM repair safety procedures (precautions while charging, connecting, towing/lifting). Use of correct PPE, dealing with emergencies and risk management and mitigation.

Performing isolation and re-energising of EV high voltage systems

Working with OEM's technical specifications and manuals. OEM's recovery information (location of high voltage components and safety handling instructions. Following OEM's procedures in identification and location of isolation switches, service locations, isolation connectors. Interpretation of live data and testing results. Understanding the tolerances.

Performing dynamic risk assessment

Observing, assessing, analysing an environment while working, to identify and remove risk. Taking action to eliminate or reduce risk. Monitoring situation. Identify and safely operate on high voltage components and cabling. Residual voltage within manufacturer's specification when isolating. Evaluate the performance of the re-energised high voltage system. Reporting and recording of the performed procedures.

Know the specific hazards of working with EV

Identify main hazards (fire and thermal runaway, explosion, gasses, chemicals). Specific hazards related to batteries, capacitors, invertors, el. engines and drives.
