Objectives
Objective | Minimum Expected Coverage |
---|---|
Understand the importance and functionality of the cell formation |
Initial and subsequent charging and discharging cycles. Mechanism of interphase layers formation (solid electrolyte and cathode electrolyte interphases). Importance of the rest and stabilisation. Influence of formation cycles on the cell performance. |
Know and understand the cell ageing procedure |
Specifics of the elevated temperature ageing to complete formation. Mechanism of interphase layer stabilisation and Li-ion concentration balancing. Influence of time and temperature of the ageing process on the cell performance. |
Know and understand the testing procedures to evaluate cell properties |
Testing and evaluation of the manufactured cell capacity, impedance and voltage. Expected load testing and thermal characterisation. Visual inspection of damage, leaks and other possible defects. Ability to operate the typical testing equipment. |
Know the final cell testing documentation and procedures |
Ability to evaluate and classify overall performance of each cell and create Battery Summary Test documentation prior to dispatch. End-of-line (EOL) testing to ensure all performance criteria are met. |
